FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How are sessions conducted ?

All therapy sessions are available virtually.

In-person sessions are currently not available; however this may change in the future.

Ask Shanique about in-person sessions if this is of interest to you.

Time Commitment

The number of therapy sessions needed is dependent on each individual’s needs and goals. For some, therapy may be a short-term process (6-8 sessions); whereas for others, long-term and/or ongoing therapy may be required.

During our initial sessions, we will collaboratively establish some goals that will provide a framework for the work we will do together. We will also discuss the number of sessions that may be needed. We can always shorten the number of sessions if your initial goals and therapeutic needs are met or we can lengthen the number of sessions, if needed.

We generally start off working together either on a weekly or biweekly basis. In times of crisis, clients may request to meet twice weekly for therapeutic support.

Pricing

Therapy can be expensive for some. I encourage you to check with your individual insurance plans to see if Psychotherapy (by a registered psychotherapist)  is covered and the annual amount allowed.

Unfortunately direct insurance billing is not available at this time. Receipts are provided for reimbursement from your individual insurance plan and/or for income tax purposes.

Cost per session (plus HST):

New Client Phone Consultation – Free (15 min)

Individual - $160 per 50 min session

Couples – $200 per 50 min session

Family - $250 per 75 min session

Sliding scale pricing may be available for those who are unable to afford the full cost per session.

Please inquire about potential options for a reduced rate.

Don't allow the fear of what you cannot see distract you from discovering all that you have imagined.
